David Bell is running Boston for Team Stepping Strong
"This day has never been more meaningful to my work."
In our “Why I’m Running” series, Boston Marathon runners share what’s inspiring them to make the 26.2-mile trek from Hopkinton to Boston. If you’re running the marathon, you can share your story here.
Name: David Bell
Age: 30
From: Brookline
I’m running the Boston Marathon as it’s been a dream of mine to accomplish. From when my sister ran in 2012 to the bombings of 2013, it made me want to go chase that dream. Everyone wants to see themselves turning on to Hereford and Boylston (insert Forrest Gump).
I spent the last two years reforming my body, losing 35 pounds when COVID started and went on a crazy running addiction. I realized that you can achieve anything you set your mind to and it will come. Just being patient really helps.
I chose Stepping Strong as a great marathon team because they are family to me. They turned a tragedy of their daughters and made a major triumph of hope, healing, and love that’s excelled and brought a lot of care.
This day has never been more meaningful to my work and time logging so many miles and moments. See you all there.
