If you’re like us, you were holding out hope that — despite last year’s “postponement” of the Peace Out farewell tour — we would get one more shot at seeing Aerosmith’s unadulterated rock energy on a Boston stage.
Unfortunately, with the band’s announcement Friday that it would “retire from the touring stage” in the wake of lead singer Steven Tyler’s larynx injury, it seems we will have to be happy with our memories. And there are a lot of them: According to aerosmithsetlists.com, the band has played close to 200 times in Massachusetts alone, with about 70 of those being in Boston proper.
