The last time the Patriots won the Super Bowl was Feb. 3, 2019 — a date that now feels like eons ago.
This was a year before the first COVID-19 case was reported in Massachusetts, two years into President Donald Trump’s first term, and back when Marty Walsh was still Boston’s mayor. Cultural touchstones that now feel ubiquitous, from “Avengers: Endgame” to “Parasite,” had’t even hit theaters yet.
And for Boston, it was a true high point. The Patriots capped the era with a 13-3 Super Bowl win over the Rams, the Red Sox were fresh off a World Series title just months earlier, Elizabeth Warren launched her presidential campaign, and Governor Charlie Baker won re-election.
Take a quick visual trip down memory lane — a look back at some of the moments and events happening around the time when the Patriots earned their last Super Bowl ring.
