The Boston Marathon is a testament to how far I have come in my mental and physical wellness. I run for anyone who finds themselves seeking encouragement and strength to push through setbacks in their life. After entering a new chapter of my fitness journey, I noticed the more I ran, the more my mental health improved.
Last year, I ran my first half-marathon, and now I’m ready to challenge myself with my first marathon. I’m combining my love for fitness with my passion for mentoring by running the Boston Marathon for Mass Mentoring Partnership. As a former Mentor with Mill City Mentoring, I’ve witnessed the positive impact of mentorship firsthand.
It’s a mindset I’ve held onto, and as a result, mentoring will always be something I advocate for and believe is beneficial to individuals of all ages. Like the guidance of a mentor, running a marathon can teach you a lot about yourself and perseverance through any challenge. My motto throughout training has been: “Tough times don’t last, tough people do.” Let’s do this Boston!
