Why I’m Running: ‘Running Boston is just icing on the cake’

Jeremy Rosenweig is running for Camp Casco, a camp for children battling cancer.

In our “Why I’m Running” series, Boston Marathon runners share what’s inspiring them to make the 26.2-mile trek from Hopkinton to Boston.

Name: Jeremy Rosenweig
Age: 37
From: Arlington

I’m running for Camp Casco, an organization dedicated to giving children with cancer the life changing experience of going to camp. My amazing wife Sam first introduced me to Camp Casco, her favorite charity. She volunteered as a counselor for one of their first camp sessions in memory of her dad, who died of cancer in his early 50s.

They shared a love of the summer camp experience and she wanted to pass along those positive feelings. I am excited to be joining this team of people dedicated to making kids happy, and running Boston is just icing on the cake! The legendary race is now my local race and it has been on the bucket list since moving here almost 10 years ago.
