Boston Marathon

This father-daughter duo is running Boston for The Home

"We are both so impressed with the organization and the team at The Home and are lucky to be a part of helping this organization thrive in the future."

In our “Why I’m Running” series, Boston Marathon runners share what’s inspiring them to make the 26.2-mile trek from Hopkinton to Boston.

Name: Mike and Clara Nowlan
Age: Mike, 56 and Clara, 27
From: Needham

We are running the Boston Marathon as a father-daughter duo for The Home for Little Wanderers.

We have both dedicated parts of our careers to supporting children and families despite living on opposite coasts.

My daughter Clara is on the front lines of the mental health field, working as a social worker for Los Angeles Unified School District.

She provides mental health services to the students there and is a witness of the power of accessible mental health care.

I, Mike, am a Senior Managing Director at Accordion, a consulting firm that manages and maximizes the success of organizational finance teams.

Through this role, I gained an intimate perspective of The Home’s financial resources and impact.

We are both so impressed with the organization and the team at The Home and are lucky to be a part of helping this organization thrive in the future.
