Steven Norbeck, 73, is running in honor of his great granddaughter
"The hospital helped my family throughout Lilah's stay and continue to do so even now. I wanted to do something to recognize this, so here we are."
In our “Why I’m Running” series, Boston Marathon runners share what’s inspiring them to make the 26.2-mile trek from Hopkinton to Boston. If you’re running the marathon, you can share your story here.
Name: Steven P. Norbeck
Age: 73
From: Charlton
I had no intentions of running another marathon. However, my great granddaughter was born with a serious heart defect and immediately went into Boston Children’s Hospital.
The doctors, nurses, and staff did everything they could for Lilah Grace, but sadly, she passed in late November.
The hospital helped my family throughout Lilah’s stay and continue to do so even now. I wanted to do something to recognize this, so here we are.
I’m running and fundraising for Boston Children’s Hospital!
