In our “Why I’m Running” series, Boston Marathon runners share what’s inspiring them to make the 26.2-mile trek from Hopkinton to Boston.

Age: 24
From: Boston
From an early age, dance has been a major part of my life.
When access to my regular dance classes was cut off during the pandemic, I picked up running as my exercise outlet.
Since then, I’ve found the comfort and joy I had in dance, in my morning runs. I’m running this year’s Boston Marathon for Casa Myrna Vasquez, one of the largest supporters for victims of domestic violence in the Boston area.
Running for this organization means so much to me because I saw their impact on the community at the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault unit.
Providing bi-lingual assistance in legal proceedings for some of the most sensitive hearings is one of the many forms of support Casa Myrna offers.
Two years at this office showed me how invaluable groups like Casa Myrna are for the most vulnerable. I’m proud to support this organization across the finish line.
Training for the marathon this winter was hard, but nowhere near as difficult and important as the work Casa Myrna provides for our community.
Crossing the finish line means you can do anything if you have passion and support from others.
