Maura Connolly is running to support MGH’s blood donation center

"I'm very grateful MGH accepted me on their team as they are such a worthy cause and my favorite blood donation center!"

In our “Why I’m Running” series, Boston Marathon runners share what’s inspiring them to make the 26.2-mile trek from Hopkinton to Boston.

Name: Maura Connolly
Age: 31
From: Cambridge

Running the Boston Marathon has been a life goal of mine and I am so excited to finally be following in the footsteps of my father, brothers, and cousins.

After running the Knoxville Marathon in 2015 and the Santa Cruz Marathon in 2016, I decided to switch to half marathons in order to save my knees for Boston.

Well, I moved across the country to return home in June, and the time has come for me to put my knees and my money where my mouth is.
