Kristen Manning is running Boston for Dana-Farber patients

"I am running for Dana-Farber so I can personally raise funds to help continue their mission, and I will carry with me the names of every fighter that I know."

In our “Why I’m Running” series, Boston Marathon runners share what’s inspiring them to make the 26.2-mile trek from Hopkinton to Boston.

Name: Kristen Manning
Age: 27
From: Canton

I have been an active supporter of Dana Farber since I was 15 years old when I first began volunteering for the Pan Mass Challenge in honor of my Nana.

My Nana was diagnosed with metastatic lung cancer when I was a baby and through advancements in treatment, lived until I was twelve years old.

While I have lost many people to cancer, I have seen the successes in medical treatment help various family members and close friends who are in remission or cancer-free.
