In our “Why I’m Running” series, Boston Marathon runners share what’s inspiring them to make the 26.2-mile trek from Hopkinton to Boston.
Name: Katy Bell
Age: 47
From: Coventry, R.I.
I am running for the Dana-Farber Marathon Challenge Team.
I was diagnosed with early stage breast cancer in 2012 and Metastatic Breast Cancer in 2016. I am a patient at Dana-Farber and see the critical research that they do. I am living proof.
I am running for my life, for everyone that has been diagnosed with cancer, and for everyone that has been a victim to the disease of cancer.
