Julia Sinton is running Boston for Colin’s Joy Project

"I've been able to keep my sights set on running those 26.2 miles April 15th, with surgery in Wellesley just 8 days later!"

In our “Why I’m Running” series, Boston Marathon runners share what’s inspiring them to make the 26.2-mile trek from Hopkinton to Boston.

Name: Julia Sinton
Age: 25
From: Boston

On February 4th I tore my ACL while skiing in Vermont. That “pop” that many athletes dread immediately brought my mind to Colin’s Joy Project, and my plans to toe the 128th Boston Marathon line. After meeting with doctors from MGH, I was given the green light to continue training in a slightly modified, more cautious manner.

The Colin’s Joy Project team (read: family) supported me in any decision I made, and I knew I would continue to fundraise for them either way. From physical therapy and hiropractor help at Wellness in Motion Boston, and MyStryde Boston studios keeping me strong, I’ve been able to keep my sights set on running those 26.2 miles April 15th, with surgery in Wellesley just 8 days later!
