Joshua Grant is running Boston to help homeless youth

"As a three-time world champion arm wrestler, I know a thing or two about hard work and training, and it is a privilege to put that into practice for The Home."

In our “Why I’m Running” series, Boston Marathon runners share what’s inspiring them to make the 26.2-mile trek from Hopkinton to Boston.

Name: Joshua Grant
Age: 52
From: Boston

I am running the Boston Marathon for the young adults I have helped in my career so far and for those to come.

During the decade I have worked for The Home for Little Wanderers, I have supported hundreds of individuals experiencing homelessness; through providing safety, shelter and a new start through The Home’s services.

I am currently the Senior Director of Transitional Age Programs, overseeing all programs that provide staff-supported housing, long-term apartments and other emotional, financial, and relational support to young adults between the ages of 18-24.

I am honored to be embarking on this endeavor with The Home across my chest and the individuals we serve on my mind.
