Running the Boston Marathon has always been a dream beyond reach, an iconic event embodying the pinnacle of endurance and spirit. My journey towards this coveted milestone began in 2021 with the Chicago Marathon, igniting a passion for the Abbott World Marathons Majors. With each stride, I conquered New York City, Berlin, Tokyo, and London, inching closer to my goal. Yet, Boston remained elusive, its unicorn status taunting me with its seeming impossibility.

However, amidst this pursuit, I stumbled upon a beacon of hope: The Gillian Reny Stepping Strong Center. Born from the tragedy of the 2013 Boston Marathon bombings, this remarkable charity symbolizes resilience and healing. It stands as a testament to the human spirit’s capacity to rise from adversity and transform pain into purpose. The Stepping Strong Center’s dedication to trauma research and recovery struck a chord within me. Its collaborative, multidisciplinary approach is not just changing lives; it’s revolutionizing the way we understand and respond to trauma worldwide.

Each success story emerging from its efforts fuels my determination to lace up my shoes and tackle those 26.2 miles in support of this noble cause. As I prepare to embark on this extraordinary quest, I think about this amazing journey and how grateful I am to toe the line on April 15th to complete the Abbott World Marathon Major series and become a Six Star Finisher.

With each stride, I run not only for myself but for those who encourage me to go the distance. I run for Stepping Strong. I run for Boston Strong.
