After the 2013 marathon, Jennifer Jeretina vowed she’d run Boston again
"As a runner in 2013, I feel connected to Krystle and am honored to give back to the people of the city of Boston in her memory."
In our “Why I’m Running” series, Boston Marathon runners share what’s inspiring them to make the 26.2-mile trek from Hopkinton to Boston. If you’re running the marathon, you can share your story here.
Name: Jennifer Jeretina
Age: 35
From: Shrewsbury
I am running the 2024 Boston Marathon to inspire my twins.
A few years ago, as a new mom, I felt like I’d lost sight of who I used to be.
I thought back to 2012, when I had the big goal of running the 2013 Boston marathon and, inspired by a friend and mom of three training and fundraising for Boston, resolved that I would run it again.
My twins will be there to cheer me on, and more importantly are witnessing my dedication to training and fundraising for a cause that I’m passionate about.
I’m so grateful to be running as part of the Krystle Campbell Memorial Fund team benefitting the Boston Foundation.
The Boston Foundation’s mission is to close the gaps on the region’s greatest inequities.
As a runner in 2013, I feel connected to Krystle and am honored to give back to the people of the city of Boston in her memory.
