With the country in the longest government shutdown in recorded history and the delayed SNAP payments this month, some in Massachusetts are looking for ways to support families in need of food assistance or mobilizing their own community efforts.
In the Bay State, more than one million people are impacted by the SNAP cuts, according to the Mass. SNAP Resource Hub. Among those recipients, 32 percent are children, 31 percent are people with disabilities, and 26 percent are seniors.
