If you’re planning to be in Boston for the holiday weekend, there are some notable road closures, traffic detours and parking restrictions to be aware of.

In a nutshell, driving a vehicle into the city for the Fourth of July celebrations is not advised by public safety and transportation officials. Major roadways, including Storrow and Memorial drives, will be impacted by closures this weekend.

Travel restrictions will be in place for both vehicular and pedestrian traffic and will affect parts of Cambridge. A full breakdown of the planned closures can be found here.

If you’re planning to attend one of the upcoming Red Sox home games on July 3 or July 4, Massachusetts State Police point out that parts of Storrow Drive will be closed on both those days so fans should seek alternative routes.
