Going to the RMV in Revere? You’re probably going to have to wait.
Going to the RMV is something you don’t want to do, but have to do, knowing you’re going to wait in line.
Not so fast.
One Brighton resident, Alex Petralia, thinks he has figured out a way to know what the best time to go to the RMV is, by location.
According to The Boston Globe:
“Petralia used an online tool to gather more than two weeks of RMV licensing wait times at locations around the state, which are displayed in close to real time on the registry’s website. He then analyzed the data and presented it in an online graphic charting wait times at each RMV location on any given day of the week.’’
“His study appears to show what the RMV has long known, which is that customer behavior shows greatest use of the RMV on Fridays, followed by Mondays and Thursdays,’’ Michael Verseckes, a spokesman for the department told The Boston Globe.
Here is a list of the ten RMV locations that had the longest median wait times from July 14 to July 24:
1. Revere, 67.43 minutes
2. Braintree, 63.1 minutes
3. Leominster, 61.43 minutes
4. South Yarmouth, 59 minutes
5. Worcester 58.77 minutes
6. Springfield, 54.9 minutes
7. Milford, 53.33 minutes
8. Watertown, 51.07 minutes
9. Boston, 50.17 minutes
10. Easthampton, 46.1 minutes
