Lamborghini Aventador cruises Nürburgring track in under 7 minutes

The Lamborghini Aventador LP 750-4 Superveloce lapped around Germany’s infamous Nürburgring track in barely less than seven minutes, the fourth-fastest time ever.

With driver Marco Mapelli behind the wheel of the Aventador, the high-speed sports car completed the 13-mile race with a time of 6 minutes and 59.73 seconds.

The lap was completed at Nürburgring’s Nordschleife – the “Northern Loop’’ – a motorsport complex in Germany that is frequently used to put performance race cars to the test. The Nordschleife, which is 12.9 miles long with elevation levels changing by more than 1,000 feet between the highest and lowest point, has been dubbed “The Green Hell.’’

The lap was completed on May 16 and the dashcam video was uploaded to YouTube.

The Lamborghini Aventador LP 750-4 SV made its debut earlier this year at the Geneva Auto Show. The frame is made from carbon fiber and aluminum, making the vehicle lighter than previous versions. A V12 engine allows it to go from zero to 62 miles per hour in 2.8 seconds.
