For a certain type of Massachusetts resident, the arrival of spring was heralded this weekend by the purring of engines in the parking lot of the Herb Chambers BMW of Sudbury dealership.

Saturday marked the year’s first “Cars & Coffee’’ event, a monthly gathering of car owners and enthusiasts at one of the many Herb Chambers dealerships around the state. The early morning, loosely organized car shows were launched in 2009 and run from April through October each year.

A 1967 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 from Chambers’s personal collection headlined Saturday’s show at the BMW dealership near Route 20.

But dozens of other car owners brought their rides out into the spring sunlight, showing off everything from a 1930 Chevy two-door to a 2015 Lamborghini Huracàn.

See pictures of our favorite cars on display below. The next “Cars & Coffee’’ is scheduled for May 11 from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the Herb Chambers Audi and Porsche dealership in Burlington.
