What About Self-Driving Cars?

Q. What do you think of the idea that cars will be safer in the future because people won’t drive them? Are you in favor of self-driving cars?

A. I enjoy driving but there are certainly times that I would like to be in a car that drives without my help. I commute nearly 100 miles round trip to work and there are times that I would rather not drive such as being stuck in traffic or when that commuter time could be used for extra productivity. Then there are times that there is nothing more rewarding than driving a sporty car on a twisty two lane road. I had the opportunity to talk with Volvo’s Anders Eugensson on my radio program and he predicts that by the year 2020 there will be no new Volvos will be involved in any fatal crashes due to some level of self-driving cars. The interview is on my podcast site if you want to give it a listen.
