Q. I am considering buying a “hot’’ coupe and I’m looking at the Subaru WRX and the Honda Civic Si. Of these two cars, what do you like and why?

A. The WRX is one of my favorite cars; it is fast, handles well and is generally comfortable to drive. The Civic Si is fast and easy to drive; it feels like a performance car when pushed hard and a stock Civic when driven in stop and go traffic. Living in New England, my choice would be the all-wheel-drive Subaru Impreza.
