Will You Be a Low License Plate Lottery Winner?
If you’re among the motorists who entered for a chance to get one of those rare low-number license plates, the Registry of Motor Vehicles says you’ll find out if you’re a winner next month.
On its blog, MassDOT announced the state’s low number license plate lottery drawing will take place on September 10. Winners will be announced at the RMV’s upcoming new branch at Haymarket Center (136 Blackstone Street).
Among the top prizes this year is plate “351,’’ which in case you didn’t know is the number of cities in towns in Massachusetts. There are 159 other plates up for grabs the drawing, according to MassDOT’s blog, including “D88,’’ “6777,’’ and “7000.’’
According to MassDOT, the low plate lottery received more than 6,600 applications. If you’re wondering how you can get in on the fun, we’ve got bad news. Applications for the lottery had to be postmarked by August 11. Sorry!
The new Haymarket Center RMV branch is slated to open to the public on September 15 and will have “a dedicated E-ZPass Service Customer Center, enhanced privacy during customer transactions and hearings.’’
