Route 1 reopened after tractor-trailer crash near Lynnfield Tunnel is cleared

All southbound lanes and one northbound lane of Route 1 in Saugus were shut down for about two hours after a crash caused a tractor-trailer to roll over on the highway Tuesday, State Police said.

The two-vehicle crash occurred around 9:50 a.m. near the Lynnfield tunnel, State Police spokesman Dave Procopio said. One person from each vehicle was taken to Salem Hospital at North Shore Medical Center with injuries, Procopio said.

All lanes reopened by noon, State Police wrote on Twitter.

After colliding with a car, the tractor-trailer rolled onto the guard rail and was leaking fuel from the saddle tanks, State Police wrote on Twitter.
