Here are all of the July 4 parking and traffic restrictions in Boston and Cambridge

Get ready for an abundance of street closures and parking restrictions in Boston and Cambridge for the Fourth of July celebration. With an estimated 500,000 people expected to attend the festivities, you’ll want to plan ahead if you’re driving or parking in the city.

Boston

These streets will be closed to cars starting at 7 a.m.:

  • Storrow Drive, from Leverett Circle to Kenmore Square

At 9 a.m. traffic on some downtown streets will be disrupted for the annual Independance Day Parade, which begins at City Hall Plaza and ends at Faneuil Hall. About 500 marchers will head down Cambridge Street and continue onto Tremont before turning left onto Bromfield Street. The parade will then turn left on Washington Street and right onto Court Street, where it will stop briefly at the Old State house. The marchers will resume by turning left onto Congress Street, and the parade will end at Faneuil Hall. These streets will be closed to cars starting at 6 p.m.:

  • Beacon Street, from Charles Street to Mass. Ave, as well as all streets leading into it
  • Berkeley Street, from Commonwealth Avenue to Beacon
  • Dartmouth Street, from Commonwealth Avenue to Beacon
  • Fairfield Street, from Commonwealth Avenue to Beacon
  • Hereford Street, from Commonwealth Avenue to Beacon

Anticipate parking restrictions on these streets:

  • Arlington Street
  • Beacon Street
  • Berkeley Street
  • Clarendon Street
  • Dartmouth Street
  • Exeter Street
  • Fairfield Street
  • Back Street
  • Gloucester Street
  • Hereford Street
  • Chestnut Street
  • Massachusetts Avenue
  • Boylston Street
  • Mount Vernon Street
  • Pinckney Street
  • Revere Street

Bridges:

  • The pedestrian footbridge from Charles Street Circle to the Esplanade, as well as the Fiedler Footbridge, will also be closed at 7 a.m.
  • Massachusetts Avenue Bridge closes one lane going from Boston to Cambridge starting at noon. The entire bridge will close to cars and pedestrians at 4 p.m.
  • Longfellow Bridge closes to cars at 4 p.m.; pedestrians will be allowed on downstream side. The bridge will close to pedestrian traffic starting from about 9 p.m. until the end of the fireworks display.

Cambridge

The roads that will be impacted by the fireworks festivities in Cambridge.

The earliest restrictions begin at 12 a.m. Tuesday, with parking prohibited on Memorial Drive from 450 Memorial Drive to the Longfellow Bridge.

These streets will be closed starting at 4 p.m.:

  • Memorial Drive, from BU Bridge to the Longfellow Bridge
  • Maine Street, from Third Street to Memorial Drive
  • Wadsworth Street
  • Amherst Street
  • Dock Street
  • Carleton Street
  • Hayward Street
  • Charlotte’s Way
  • Vassar Street, from Massachusetts Avenue to Memorial Drive
  • Cambridge Parkway

Starting at 10:30 p.m., Third Street becomes one-way from Main Street to Msgr. O’Brien Highway.Anticipate parking restrictions on these streets:

  • Magazine Beach and Pool
  • Cambridge Parkway
