What are your thoughts about stick shifts? Would you own one?Q.
I like driving a manual shift car and want my next car to be a stick shift. However, my husband doesn’t know how to drive a car with a clutch and dislikes the idea of it. What are your thoughts about stick shifts? Would you own one?
A. I think everyone should know how to drive a stick shift; it would certainly cut down on distractions like texting while driving. There are very few things that I enjoy more than driving a car with a manual transmission, but for most people, automatic transmissions are usually the best choice. Perhaps as a compromise, your next car could be an automatic transmission with a manual mode, or you could buy a used Mazda Miata for a “fun” car.
