It has an automatic transmission, and I’ve noticed it starts in second gear. Is something wrong? Why would it do this? A. There is a very smart transmission in your car. In drive mode, the transmission will perform based on how you drive the vehicle. This could be economical and comfortable or sporty and aggressive. After a while, the car will adapt to your own personal driving style.John Paul is AAA Northeast’s Car Doctor.
