A. The average life of a battery is just about five years, so you may be pushing your luck. That said, the battery in my car was seven-years-old, and I believe it only failed because the dome light was on for a weekend. Many people think the real test of a battery is cold weather when, in fact, heat is the No. 1 cause of battery failure and shortened battery life.
