These cars seem to loose antifreeze and need to be topped off on a regular basis. What is the problem, and should I buy another Subaru? A. I would have the dealer conduct a simple test and check for possible head-gasket issues, and then add a dye to the coolant to check for external leaks. The cylinder head-gasket problem that was so common in earlier models should have been resolved with the engine redesigned in the 2013 model year. John Paul is AAA Northeast’s Car Doctor.
