We need a real truck. What do you think of the full-sized General Motors trucks? A. I have always been a fan of GM pickup trucks. I like the V-8 engine performance, fuel economy, and overall ride. I recently spent some time in the Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD diesel powered crew-cab pickup, and its towing capacity, fuel economy, and creature comforts may fit your needs. The 6.6-liter, turbo-diesel truck can tow 13,000 pounds, and it’s quiet and efficient, averaging 22 miles per gallon on the highway. I never worked the truck too hard, but I did drive it with about 1,000 pounds of weight in the bed at one point. The engine performance, ride, and braking was unchanged on my test drive. I also found the cabin very nicely appointed, and I think it rivals some luxury cars in that sense. John Paul is AAA Northeast’s Car Doctor.
