Pablo Sandoval prepares for spring training with insane car purchases
Boston Red Sox third baseman Pablo Sandoval is preparing for the return of baseball season with an envy-inducing list of exotic car purchases, according to a recent story by The New York Times.
The Times profiled Auto Firm, a custom car garage just outside of Miami that specializes in exotic and high-end cars for celebrity athletes, and Sandoval is a major customer.
Sandoval’s wish list for Auto Firm’s owner Alex Vega included trading in a Porsche Panamera, ordering new rims for a pair of Range Rovers, and purchasing a 2016 Rolls-Royce Ghost, a super-luxury car that costs over $325,000.
Vega has also worked on a customized Jeep Wrangler for Sandoval, which features custom bumpers, grill, hood and side armor, 20-inch Fuel Maverick Wheels and headlights that can change color to sync with the music from Sandoval’s iPhone.
With more than 300 baseball players in his client list, Vega is expecting many more exotic car requests to come his way as the season approaches.
From the Times:
“Spring training is when business gets the craziest because everybody wants to show up with something new,’’ Vega said. “I’m already getting calls. I’m already preparing cars.’’
During his stop at Auto Firm, Sandoval took time to gawk at a white Ferrari that Vega was working on for fellow Red Sox player Hanley Ramirez. Ramirez also had a Lamborghini Aventador Roadster equipped with Avorza AV13 wheels, a specially-customized interior, and an exhaust system that spits fire.

A custom-made Mercedes-Benz limousine van is one of Auto Firm’s top-selling items. That’s because it comes with a built-in bar, two big-screen televisions and a home theater system, reclining chairs, and a couch. It costs about $175,000 and can seat seven.
Fire must be hot with current and former Red Sox players. Former Red Sox Yoenis Cespedes is another one of Vega’s clients. As Vegas tells the Times, after Cespedes spent about $400,000 on his own Lamborghini Aventador, he turned to Vega for renovations totaling roughly $75,000.
These renovations include a new paint job, a redone interior, custom wheels – and yes, a fire-shooting exhaust.
Sandoval left Vega’s store after ordering a custom-made Mercedes-Benz limousine van with a built-in bar, two big-screen televisions and a home theater system, reclining chairs, and a couch. It costs about $175,000 and can seat seven.
