Peter Chianca, the general assignment editor for Boston.com, is a longtime news editor, columnist, and music writer in the Greater Boston area. He's been with Boston.com since 2019, where he handles daily news assignments and contributes to concert, celebrity, and books coverage; prior to that he was Director of News and Operations for Gatehouse Media’s North of Boston division. Pete is the author of "Glory Days: Springsteen's Greatest Albums," and is co-creator of the comic strip "Pet Peeves" with artist Dave London.

Pete has been honored for his columns and commentary with awards from the New England Newspaper and Press Association, the Massachusetts Press Association, and the National Society of Newspaper Columnists. In the ninth grade, he received a trophy for “Most Improved Bowler.”
