Marc Hirsh is a music critic and journalist for Boston.com, covering a wide range of genres including pop, rock (both mainstream and indie), country, hip-hop, jazz and blues. He joined the Boston.com team in 2023 and continues to split his time between Boston.com and the Boston Globe, which he has been writing for since 2004. His writing has also appeared in Entertainment Weekly, Vulture, NPR (where he has been a repeat panelist on the Pop Culture Happy Hour podcast), Today.com (formerly MSNBC.com), the AV Club and others. When he isn't working, Marc is a longtime veteran of improv comedy and teaches improv to kids and adults alike in addition to performing.

Marc's work has been featured on the NPR/WBUR show Here & Now, the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation and Australia's Talking Lifestyle radio network. In addition, he is a one-day Jeopardy! champion and the 2011 World Men's Four Square champion, neither of which have anything to do with his writing, but there you go.
