Lauren Daley

Lauren Daley is a culture journalist and contributing arts writer to Boston.com where she aims to bring an old-school Rolling Stone vibe to the New England arts scene. For Boston.com, she’s covered everything from a Bob Dylan memorabilia auction to a Neil Young concert review, but her bread and butter is in-depth artist interviews. She aims to show the human side to every household name.Ā

Daley has interviewed music legends – The Who, Joan Baez, David Crosby, Judy Collins, Queen Latifah, the Grateful Dead’s Bob Weir, Billy Joel, Jakob Dylan, T Bone Burnett, members of Tom Petty’s Heartbreakers, to name a few — movie stars, cast members from ā€œSeinfeld,ā€ ā€œThe Sopranos,ā€ ā€The Office,ā€ Parks & Rec, ā€œHacksā€ and more, comedians, and countless authors, from Malcom Gladwell to Joyce Maynard to David Sedaris.

Daley has worked in newsrooms since she was 19, and was a long-time books columnist for a USA Today Network outlet. She went freelance in 2008 and has written regularly for The Boston Globe since 2012, in various sections, from Ideas to Travel. Her work has appeared in WBUR, Globe Rhode Island, Boston Globe Magazine, Paste Magazine, the Village Voice, McSweeney’s, Huffington Post, and more. When not writing or interviewing, you can find her walking outside listening to Bob Dylan bootlegs.
