Christopher Hurley

Christopher Hurley is an award-winning multimedia sports journalist with over 25 years of newsroom experience (Lowell Sun, Medford Transcript, Beverly Citizen, etc.). The Malden native started covering the local sports scene in 1995 and has been a press box fixture ever since, covering the Boston Bruins, the Stanley Cup Finals, Belmont Stakes, New England Golden Gloves, WrestleMania XIV, the mighty Van Halen, and countless local and regional events. When not on deadline, Hurley can be found catching his favorite hard rock bands in concert, or chasing around his puppy, Bella.

Hurley was named the 2016 GateHouse Media Sportswriter of the Year. He is also the winner of 16 New England Newspaper and Press Association Awards, including: 2018: Sports Section, Melrose Free Press (first), Sports Columnist, Medford Transcript (second); Sports Story, Medford Transcript (third); 2016: Sports Story, Marblehead Reporter (first), Sports Section, Melrose Free Press (third), Sports Feature Story, Melrose Free Press (honorable mention), and more.
