As a senior writer for Boston.com, Allison Manning writes about the intersection of crime, the courts, policing and drug addiction. Prior to returning to Boston, she spent five years working for The Columbus Dispatch in Ohio, where she wrote about kids and guns, how violence affects families, and several large police departments, all while documenting about 100 murders a year. She won news-writing awards from the Associated Press in 2013 and 2014. A Boston University graduate and South Shore native, she got her first job as a reporter at The Patriot Ledger in Quincy, Mass.
